Change is in the air. 
At POWERS MFG we've dedicated ourselves to providing the world's athletes with superior quality, custom tailored jerseys and athletic wear since 1902. Every garment passes through our exclusive quality control system and you can take pride in wearing our logo, knowing that by raising the bar in your athletic wear, you're raising the bar for your athletic performance. 
The POWERS brand has always reflected our company, evolving as our services and dedication have grown. Our products have transcended traditional expectations in recent years, and it was obvious that our logo would need to function beyond all competition to accurately represent POWERS MFG. 
We've commissioned T8DESIGN to redesign our logo and perform an all inclusive, mixed media, national redesign of the POWERS MFG brand. And, after much ado, we here at POWERS and the great folks over at T8DESIGN are proud to unveil the new POWERS MFG for the world to see. 
 
PROJECT GOALS 
As with all great logos; the elements need to work in multiple configurations if the brand will be effective across mediums, layouts and aesthetics. The POWERS brand is unique because it spans every medium - requiring the logo to not only work, but function dynamically in every form, reflecting POWERS and their work. 
The other requirement that sets this project apart is that the solution needed to function independent of linguistic and continental boundaries. This posed obstacles because our minds are constantly working to interpret and categorize that world around us, contrasting and associating objects and experiences through their respective similarities and differences. So all native elements, whether definitively visual or culturally relative, were out of the question as they would reflect their origin. This also posed problems for universal visual elements, as their linguistic and cultural definitions shift from continent to continent and even from city to city. The dragon, for example, has been used to represent power and nobility in many eastern cultures while it is seen as the representation of evil in western cultures.  
 
THE SOLUTION 
To be effective the logo would need to represent POWERS MFG, the superior quality of their products, and the American sports market while functioning independent of geographic and linguistic boundaries.  
Of the approaches which met the projects goals, one solution sung out above all others and it became clear that we had found the new logo; the POWERS BOOST. 
The BOOST utilizes math as a definitive, universal language and pairs it with the intrinsic power and competitive nature of sport. Representing our theory that athletes, given the proper tools, are taken to an exponential power, amplifying their potential value and creating a heightened level of sport, performance, and competition.
